About Flat Brim Flies

I started Flat brims Flies because I want to share my love of fishing with others. Like how most adventures start, I was loving what I was creating, but really I had no clue what I was doing. Over time I learned better and more effective techniques, sourced better materials, invested in better equipment and most importantly my bugs were slaying fish in diverse waters. Flat Brim Flies is passionate about providing high quality streamers to all anglers to ensure epic days on the water. I fitch these bugs every day and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

About Ed

I started Fitchin at an early age with a cane pole in hand on Lake Michigan catching perch and other panfish. As I grew up I was able to get a spinning rod and fitch for salmon and steelhead with a 9 foot Eagle Claw noodle rod which could be used as a fly rod. It was ugly, but that was when my love for fly fishing started. I moved to Colorado and would shred legendary powder in the winter and chase fitch in the summer. I just loved being on the water as much as possible no matter if it took me 10 minutes or 12 hours to get there. Nowadays I spin bugs with coffee in the morning and then get out on the water for a few hours a couple times a week. Rain, shine, wind, snow it doesn’t matter. Being out on the water is what grounds me and brings me the most joy.

It is really important to get out and slip away from life any time you can and, just “flick the switch off.” At the end of the day I love my family, the outdoors, and enjoying life.
